Leistungsbasierte Fragen bei BTL1: was sie sind und wie man sie übt

BTL1 is a 24-hour practical incident-response assessment from Centri, formerly Security Blue Team. You investigate a lab environment and receive immediate grading and feedback. Our short practice tasks build supporting skills and do not reproduce that exam environment.

Was die Prüfung misst

Warum es diese Fragen gibt

Whether you can investigate evidence and reach supported conclusions. Practise working with phishing artifacts, logs, forensic data, and incident-response workflows in a hands-on environment.

  • Record findings with their supporting evidence so you can verify each conclusion and distinguish an observation from an assumption.
  • Use the full window rather than treating it as a timed sitting. It exists so you can be thorough.
  • Keep contemporaneous notes as you work. Reconstructing your reasoning at the end is slower and less accurate than recording it as you go.

Question 1 of 3 · Phishing and security operations

A forensic image is transferred to an analysis workstation. Its filename and size match the source image, but its verification hash differs from the recorded acquisition hash. Which conclusion is justified?

Answer and explanation

Best answer: Integrity is unverified and the mismatch needs investigation

The mismatch means this copy has not passed integrity verification. Preserve the acquisition record and investigate the transfer or obtain a verified copy before relying on it.

Why the other choices fit less well

Names and sizes can remain unchanged when bytes differ. Silently replacing the acquisition hash conceals the discrepancy and undermines the evidence record.

Question 2 of 3 · Phishing analysis

A suspicious email displays a familiar company name, but its Reply-To points to an unrelated domain and its link leads to a different hostname. What is the strongest next analytical step?

Answer and explanation

Best answer: Preserve the message and inspect headers and destinations in the approved analysis environment

Preserve the original message and inspect the actual addressing and destinations safely. The discrepancies support investigation without requiring a risky visit from a normal workstation.

Why the other choices fit less well

A display name is not proof of origin. Opening the link on production exposes the user. Mass forwarding spreads potentially harmful content and can alter the evidence context.

Question 3 of 3 · Digital forensics

A disk image is transferred to a second analyst. Which record best supports traceable evidence handling?

Answer and explanation

Best answer: The image hash, source identifier, collection details and documented transfer history

Identify the evidence and acquisition, record its integrity value, and document who handled it and when. Those records support integrity checks and a traceable handling history.

Why the other choices fit less well

A nickname, desktop screenshot or disconnected filename does not establish the source, integrity or transfer history. Keep the original identifiers rather than replacing the acquisition record.

Was Sie hier bekommen

Because the BTL1 exam is practical, our exercises here train the underlying reasoning rather than mirror the exam interface. Confirm current pass thresholds and retake terms on the official Centri page, as they change periodically.
