Should you take CompTIA CySA+ or Microsoft SC-200?

Choose by environment, not difficulty. CySA+ is vendor-neutral analysis; SC-200 is the same job performed specifically in Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR. If your employer runs Microsoft security tooling, SC-200 is the more immediately useful credential. Both certify a security operations analyst: detection, investigation, incident response. The difference is that CySA+ describes the discipline in the abstract, while SC-200 tests whether you can do it with a specific toolset in front of you.
